About Malone University

Malone University is a small, private university in Ohio. Established as the Cleveland Bible College in 1892, it had an affiliation with the Quaker movement. Many of its early students belonged to that faith and attended the college before working in social service fields in and around Cleveland. Construction in the city led to the college moving to a new campus in Canton, which is where it adopted the Malone name. As Malone College, it shifted its focus to liberal arts programs instead of religious courses. The college changed its name to Malone University in 2008 and added new programs as well as buildings to meet the growing number of students applying.

The university expanded quickly in the 1960s and beyond. Its College of Theology, Arts & Sciences now offers a range of social sciences degrees that honor the original programs offered by the university. That college is home to multiple clubs, organizations, and associations that offer opportunities for students to learn more about psychology and counseling. Malone University has an enrollment of around 1,600 students and an affiliation with the Religious Society of Friends.
